Carmignac Photojournalism Award
In 2009, Fondation Carmignac established the Carmignac Photojournalism Award. Based in Paris and directed by Emeric Glayse, it funds annually the production of an investigative photo reportage on human rights violations and geostrategic issues in the world. Selected by an international jury, the laureate receives an endowment of 50,000 euros, enabling them to carry out an in-depth reportage on the ground, with the logistical support of Fondation Carmignac. The latter presents a traveling exhibition and the publication of a monograph, upon their return.
The past three editions were dedicated to the Arctic (Yuri Kozyrev and Kadir van Lohuizen), the Amazon (Tommaso Protti) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Finbarr O’Reilly, in collaboration with Arlette Bashizi, Dieudonne Dirole, Charly Kasereka, Justin Makangara, Guylain Balume Muhindo, Guerchom Ndebo, Raissa Karama Rwizibuka, Moses Sawasawa, Pamela Tulizo, Ley Uwera, and Bernadette Vivuya). The laureates reportages have been widely featured in French and international media.
